Now that I think of it, Thursday is pretty interesting. If you think about it it's pretty close to Thor's day, which happens to be the Swedish (and probably Danish and Norwegian) word for Thursday. Think about it.
In other news, my cold has worsened. My throat is really crapped. On top of this I just got a mail at work; It seems the requirements verification never ends at this place. Have I mentioned how I dislike requirements verification?

Bugging me
Something's been bugging me since this Friday/weekend. Seems like I forgot something that I was supposed to do. I know that there was something but I can't seem to recall what. Makes me kinda nervous, these sort of things always do. I've checked every form of calendar I have but the weekend is empty. What the hell did I forget? Did I dream something up? Did I piss someone off? *insert swearing*
It really bothers me.

Random rambling at work
Sitting here waiting for the heat to reach an above-cold level in the office. It took the landlord a week to turn it on after turning it off for some reason, and now of course it's gonna take the whole day for it to actually reach a tolerable level. Cheapskates!
On to other things, random crashes in string destructors (actually the deallocators) are interesting. Especially when you've seen it before, found the issue and discovered that it was really a non-issue and then suddenly it pops up again but with none of the causes( non-local static destruction) you found earlier. And off I am debugging.
Edit:
Found the error. Default copy & assignment were the villains. This talks about why that can create problems. This particular problem was shallow copying of members containing pointers. The members deallocated the memory upon destruction, thus wrecking havoc when the the other object was destroyed.

Here we go again
I guess I'll try this blogging thing again. Third time or something? Let's see what I make of it.
The title of the blog is apparently some philosophical/existentialist notion but I first came into contact with it in a Stargate SG-1 episode (quoting "Fake" Teal'c):
"Sci-Fi is an existential metaphor that allows us to tell stories about the human condition. Isaac Asimov once said, 'Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinded critics and philosophers of today. But the core of science fiction its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.'"
I kinda like that quote. And I like Sci-fi, so it seemed like a nice title for the blog. Ironic thing is I haven't read any Asimov besides "Nightfall" and "The Last Question", perhaps only the earlier touched upon the human condition. Maybe I should read some more, any tips?
Oh well, time to get the laundry. And then go to bed. Meeting tomorrow morning. Crap. Hopefully won't oversleep. Lots to do, probably long day tomorrow. The whole team is behind schedule and my project manager seems to get a bit more distressed every day though he doesn't show it. As I said. Crappy.
